🔧 Tools You Need
Here's the setup:
🛠️ Runway Act 2 – To animate your performance
🛠️ Flux Kontext – To generate stylized character images
🎥 A simple video of you acting (3–30 seconds long)
🧑🎤 A high-quality selfie or portrait
Optional: Good lighting, minimal background noise, and basic video editing skills.
🪄 Step 1: Record Your Driving Performance
Open your phone, record yourself acting something out (talking, moving hands, reacting). This is your “driver.”
✅ Keep your face well-lit
✅ Stay in frame
✅ Minimum: 3 seconds (Runway charges 5 credits/sec)
Don’t overthink it — just act naturally or go dramatic if you’re creating a fantasy character.
🎭 Step 2: Generate a Character With Flux Kontext
Now the fun part — turning your face into someone (or something) else.
Upload a selfie to Flux Kontext
Type a prompt describing the version of yourself you want (scroll down for mine)
Let the AI do its thing
Download the stylized image
These outputs become your new “skin” in the video.

🦸🏽 Superhero Prompt:
“Transform this person into a masked superhero with a dramatic cowl, sculpted suit, and heroic stance. Turn the glasses into high-tech tactical lenses, and reimagine the background as a city skyline at night, lit by searchlights and the glow of danger.”
🎬 Step 3: Animate with Runway Act 2
Now that you’ve got your performance and your character image, it’s showtime.
Go to Runway
Start a new Video session
Choose “Act 2”
Upload both files: your video + your AI-generated character image
Select your output size:
9:16 for Reels/TikTok
16:9 for YouTube
1:1 for square grid posts
Then hit Generate. Let the AI cook for a few minutes.
💡 Pro Tips
Keep lighting consistent between your original video and the character image
If the animation looks stiff, try a more exaggerated performance
Want multiple characters? Make several versions of yourself in Flux and run them through the same steps
